Remember This??

TRIP TO THE MALL...

Ok.. for those that lived the 80's, do you remember THIS? :) Stephen & I went up to the FRISCO MALL today and we spotted a 16 year old wearing her hair like this with a headband! I was like OMG.. I USED to wear my hair like that (when I was 8)!!! ha-ha
When we got back in the car.. I said, Stephen... (as I was pulling my hair up) did you see a girl in the mall with her hair like this? He just laughed and said.. I think?? We saw a bunch of weirdoes in there! ha

Mom went all out this year! :)

For FIRE CRACKER day this year, mom had everyone over for a cookout! She made home-made ice cream while Dad cooked the BEST
HAMB
-URGERS out on the grill!

I decided to make some NAME CARDS
that were a big success at the PARTY! :)
I labeled everyone with a "nick name" along with their real name! For my nicknames, I decided to use a recent activity the person had been involved with. It helped stir up some GREAT conversations! Not that we need it! HA But.. it was fun catching up with everyone! :)Here is an example of the name cards! this was Ashley's... :) ha-ha

NATASHA - Cupcake failure! :( "THEY MELTED"

Stephen's says : "Mr. Helpful get's Poisen Ivy" HA

J-O-B BLOG update!

Well here she is ladies & Gentlmen, the place I call WORK! TEXAN'S CREDIT UNION!!! Isn't she lovely! :)

Painting with SWEET TEA!

Stephen & I did our last coat of paint on the OFFICE last night! We were so sick of walking by the room and seeing plastic on the floor, blue tape on the wall, and a half finished room staring us in the face! So we put on our HAPPY FACES and BEST ATTITUDES and dug right in!

WE DID AN AMAZING JOB! ha Or.. I think I did better with my attitude this time anyway! :) As for Mr. GRUMPY, not sure?? ha-ha

BUt.. I believe I figured out a secret method to my "BEING DONE" mood! I decided this time when I was finished painting... I would not announce it OUT-LOUD... I would quietly walk out of the room and move onto something else! HA-HA This way I wouldn't have to hear Stephen saying, "WE ARE NOT QUITTER'S and all that jazz! :)

During one break that I took I decided to make some SWEET TEXAS TEA! Sometimes I make it with sweet-n-low and sometimes I make it with straight up SUGAR! stephen says he can always tell, but I never would believe him, because he always watches me make it! So.. this time I decided to make TWO SEPARATE TEA'S and take them to him in the same kind of glasses and see if he could tell the difference? BOY.. could I have kicked my self in the butt! He KNEW RIGHT OFF! ha I figured out I WAS THE ONE THAT COULD NOT TELL, until I looked at the bottom of the glass and saw all the REAL SUGAR sitting at the bottom of the glass! That IS NUTS! ha-ha I guess it's kind of good I can't tell? I'll get skinnier! HA

Poison Ivy what???

The only thing I know about poison Ivy is she was a character in a old Batman movie! I have never had it, or have ever seen it on anyone?? But, it all changed for me yesterday when my poor HUBBY discovered he has it!! Isn't that terrible? I don't like to see him hurt, because it makes me sad for him. :(

But.. I think he is getting a little annoyed at me for treating him like he is DYING! ha ha I just cant help it! I constantly keep checking on him like he's about to fall over dead on me? I keep asking him if he has fever, and if everything is ok??? And most of all... I'm STAYING CLEAR from him like he has a infecting disease. I start to ITCH FOR NO REASON! HA But.. honestly, I didn't know ANYTHING about it?Finally I think it's time for a definition!

What is poison ivy?
Poison ivy is a very common plant found in most parts of the United States. It has two forms. One form grows low to the ground. It is usually found in groups of many plants and looks like weeds growing from 6 to 30 inches high. The other form is a "hairy" vine that grows up a tree. Both have stems with 3 leaves. You may have heard the old saying, "Leaflets three, let it be." This is because most people are allergic to poison ivy.

How does poison ivy cause a rash?
The poison ivy plant contains an oil called urushiol (say: oo-roo-shee-ohl). This oil "bonds" to skin when it comes in contact with it. Most people are allergic to it. If you are allergic to urushiol and you get it on your skin, you'll develop an itchy, red rash. You can get the oil on your skin by:
Touching the poison ivy plant
Touching any clothing, including shoes, that have come in contact with the plant.
Touching any gardening tools that may have the oil on it.
Touching any pets that have been around poison ivy and have gotten the oil on their hair.
Burning the poison ivy plant. The oil from the plant is carried in the smoke.

Anyway.. I think I should of looked this up yesterday, but I think I will just keep my mouth shut and secretly keep an eye on him! After all he is my Partner For LIFE! I love him! :)

PAINTING over BLUE!

Stephen & I have been in our NEW home for about 2 months now and we decided it was time fore some changes! The previous owners had it freshly professionally painted before we moved in. Now, this gesture is VERY NICE, but sometimes has me wondering... "Why the heck did they not ask me the COLORS I wanted"! Yes, I know it sounds a little of selfish, but think about who has to live in the house...(ME)! :) So remember for those who are selling your house... DONT PAINT IT FIRST! Just throw in some cash and let them pick the colors THEY WANT! (just a little advice)

Anyhow, Stephen & I decided to take matters in our own hands and paint our OFFICE a neutral color, "Sensational Sand"! Ok.. I have to admit part of the reasoning behind my purchase was the freakish attraction I had to it's NAME! <3 IT! ha

Little did we know what we were getting ourselves into! It has been quite the process getting the office the color we want. You see.. the previous owners decided to paint this room blue... not just regular blue or baby blue but BBBBBBLLLLLLUUUUUUEEEEEE! It took 3 coats of KILZ primer to cover this BLUE MONSTER!

And, for all those who know me well... know I only like to do things for about 20 minutes and I'm DONE! Ok... so try to imagine my attitude while painting a room over and over in WHITE PRIMER!! R U SERIOUS?? You put all this time in to painting a wall WHITE and never seeing a COLOR for hours! I was going out of my mind! All I kept hearing was Stephen saying FOCUS TASHA.. DON'T QUIT... WE ARE NOT QUITER'S! Ugh.....whateve! The things you find out about each other being stuck in a room for hours full of fumes! ha -ha I guess I can't talk tooo bad! He is my partner 4 life! :)

Instead I called my MAMA down the next day! HA At this time the primer was dry and it was time to paint the REAL COLOR, "SENSATIONAL SAND"! whew... FINALY! We did AWESOME till yes.... you guessed it I WAS DONE, or I WANTED to be DONE! But.. I had Mom saying the same thing Stephen said, FOCUS TASHA... You can't QUIT IN THE MIDDLE of it! your almost DONE! ugh... I swear I don't understand those two! Luckily.. Stephen my HERO came in from work and finished it for us! :) Man.. I tell you what!!! PAINTING IS HARD WORK! I'm NOT A FAN! and.. I DON'T plan on doing any other rooms! :)

But.. I am kinda proud of THE ONLY ROOM I WILL PAINT in this house! HA :)

Why is it...

That we find something ON SALE and tend to think we should buy MORE OF IT! I mean seriously... why can't we just accept the fact we can save money RIGHT THEN! Instead we get this urgency instinct to BUY BUY BUY X3! It's ridiculous!
Today I walked in ULTA to get a can of Sebastian (heaven forbid I RUN OUT), and I see a lady who beat me to the product squatting down looking at the price and repeating to herself over & over "THAT's SO CHEAP, WOW That's SO CHEAP", as she was grabbing 4 cans of it! I suddenly began getting excited then squatted down with her and saw the SALE SIGN for 5.99! I was secretly inside doing summersaults and jumping for joy, then I stopped and thought to myself?? Should I just be HAPPY ABOUT this sale and save 6 BUCKS or should I just pretend it wasn't on sale and get 2 cans, or should I just get 4 cans and save myself the SALE for the next to times I come in?? I just kept going and going?? WHY DO WE DO THIS! SERIOUSLY??? :)
